Michelle Cobley has been surrounded by music her entire life. Her mother teaches young children music, which is where she got her start. She performed with school orchestras and the North Carolina Honors Orchestra, and won the GlaxoSmithKlein’s Young musician award in high school.
She was accepted into Berklee College of Music with a scholarship in 2005. At Berklee, her musical taste as well as harp playing developed dramatically. Her peers and teachers introduced her to amazing classical pieces, pieces for film, music from many other countries, as well as jazz for harp. While at Berklee, she participated in numerous film scoring projects, orchestras, took four years of private lessons with Felice Pomeranz, wrote charts for ensembles, and was lucky to be surrounded by extremely talented musicians.
Michelle is now living in the Asheville area and is available for weddings, private functions, studio sessions, and is always willing to consider innovative musical projects.
